GTT-3 - Glucose Tolerance Test, GTT-4 Obstetrical Glucose
The GTT 3 – Glucose Tolerance test and GTT 4 – Obstetrical Glucose tests measure the glucose level in your blood. These are screen tests for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes in
pregnant women.
These tests identify the abnormalities in blood sugar levels and observe how your body reacts to glucose after a meal. Fasting has to be done for eight hours before this test is required. A fasting sample is taken initially.
Then, 100 gms of glucose is asked to consume orally. The blood sugar levels will be tested in one, two, and three hours after drinking the glucose.
