Ferritin is a protein present in your blood that consists of iron. A Ferritin test measures the amount of ferritin in your blood. The number of ferritin records for the constituency of iron.

Doctors recommend for a Ferritin test to:

  • Hemochromatosis – a condition where your body absorbs excess iron from the food you

The normal range of ferritin in the blood for:
Women – 11 to 307 micrograms per liter
Men – 24 to 336 micrograms per liter
