Mantoux Skin

The Mantoux skin test (TST) is a skin-based test that involves injecting some tuberculin infection into the layers of the skin. This syringe is injected in such a way that it only penetrates the top layers of skin and
not deeper within. The Mantoux test is a widely used diagnostic tool that can determine whether an individual has an infection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

The skin test reaction is read 48 to 72 hours after administration by a healthcare professional trained to read TST results. The Mantoux test results are calculated by measuring the size of the swelling on the skin.
