Anti - Mullerian Hormone (AMH)

This test measures the levels of Anti-Müllerian hormone in an individual’s bloodstream. Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is a hormone produced by reproductive organs, including the testicles in males and the ovaries in females. Doctors recommend this test to assess a woman’s fertility (ovarian reserve or egg count). This test can also be performed to:

  • Predict the start of menopause
  • Find out the reason for early menopause
  • Help find out the reason for amenorrhea
  • Help diagnose polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
  • Check infants with genitals that are not clearly identified as male or female
  • Monitor types of ovarian cancer
