It is usually the first prescribed test. It measures all kinds of cholesterols in the body.
Cholesterol - HDL
It is as good as high. The High-Density Lipoprotein(HDL), also called the "good" cholesterol, lowers
the risks of cardiac diseases.
Cholesterol - LDL
Low-Density Lipoprotein(LDL) is known to clog heart arteries. It should be as low as possible. Otherwise, it can lead to heart disease and stroke.
Cholesterol - VLDL
VLDL has a maximum amount of triglycerides. It is bad cholesterol as it aids the cholesterol buildup on the artery walls.
