The Triglycerides test is performed to measure the amount of triglyceride in the blood. Triglycerides are a type of fat in our body that is released in the blood when we require energy for muscle movement. High levels of triglycerides form due to excess calories and cause heart stroke and attack.
The Triglyceride test is required for issues like:
- Overweight
- Family history of heart-related diseases
- Diabetes
- Lack of exercise and bad eating habits
- High blood pressure
- Individuals of older age who are at a higher risk for heart conditions
This test requires you to fast for 9-12 hours before your blood is drawn.
