Phosphorus-Urine-24 hrs
This test is performed on an individual’s urine sample to measure the amount of phosphorus in the 24 hours urine. Here, 24 hrs means the person needs to collect his urine in a container within a 24-hour window. Then, the collection container is sent to the testing lab to analyse.
Doctors use this test to identify abnormal levels of phosphorus in urine which might indicate underlying health conditions. High levels of phosphorus indicate:
- Hyperphosphatemic Condition
- Hypophosphatemic Condition
- Kidney Stones
- Hyperphosphatemic Condition
Whereas severely low phosphorus in urine indicates low dietary phosphorus intake, high insulin, high dietary potassium intake, etc.
