Leptospira Antibody
Test
Leptospira IgG Antibody
A Leptospira-IgG test is a blood test that is performed to detect the anti-Leptospira IgG antibody. It is an ELISA test with high sensitivity (>99%); and specificity (>96%). This test is performed to confirm Leptospirosis in humans.
Leptospirosis is the most common zoonotic disease (transferred from animals to humans). The causative agents of this disease are the bacteria Leptospirainterrogans or leptospiraborgpetersenii.
Test
Leptospira IgM Antibody
Similar to the Leptospira-IgM test, this test is an ELISA test to detect the presence of Leptospira IgM antibodies in a person’s blood.
Both Leptospira IgG and IgM tests are primary tests recommended by doctors to confirm Leptospirosis.
