Insulin
Test
Insulin
An insulin test is performed on an individual to measure the amount of insulin present in the body. Insulin is a very important hormone in the human body that regulates the blood sugar level. This hormone is produced by the beta cells of the pancreas, a vital organ in the abdominal cavity. As an individual consumes sugars and carbohydrates, insulin transfers these sugars and carbohydrates from
the bloodstream to the cells in the human body. The cells then make use of these sugars to generate
energy.
Doctors prescribe Insulin tests for ‘n’ number of reasons and one among them is to check if the person is suffering from low blood sugar levels, a condition called hyperglycemia (high blood sugar).
