C-Reactive Protein (CRP)
Test
C-Reactive Protein (CRP)
A C-reactive protein test determines the c reactive protein level (CRP). CRP is made by your liver and is brought into the bloodstream due to inflammation. Usually, the levels of CRP are low in the blood, but high levels of CRP indicate a serious infection or disorder in the body.
This test is used to find and analyze the conditions that cause inflammation like bacterial infections, fungal infections, inflammatory bowel disease, osteomyelitis, or any autoimmune disorder. If the test results indicate a high CRP level, then there is a type of inflammation in the body.
