Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN)
Test
Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN)
Urea is generated when protein is broken down for the process of digestion. Urea is formed in the liver and departs from the body through urine. The BUN test is performed to detect the functioning of the kidneys.
A Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) test is undertaken to assess the volume of nitrogen in your blood that leaves the body through the excretion area. The doctors prescribe the BUN test when the symptoms include fatigue, frequent urination, urine with an unusual color, high blood pressure, nausea, or vomiting.
The BUN test is simply done by withdrawing blood samples from your body, which are then accumulated into containers.
