Block and Slide Return
These tests are often undertaken to look for cancer by obtaining tissue blocks and slides from pathologies to the cancer patients, and the blocks are safely kept for future reference and research work. This test is recommended when an area of tissue in the body appears more unusual than it should be.
A block and slide test is done by taking the tissue sample from the corners as prescribed by the doctor. The surgeon will eradicate tissue for examination when a patient undergoes this test. This tissue is called a “tissue block”. The tissue block is sliced into thin layers and arranged on glass slides for further observation. The lab surgeon then evaluates these slides and prepares the concerned reports.
