Tolerance Test
A tolerance test is a glucose tolerance test, which is used to measure the blood sugar levels of your body. You have to drink a certain amount of glucose in this test, and your glucose level is measured in consecutive hours. Before drinking the glucose, a fasting blood sample is taken to record glucose levels while fasting.
All the results are used to compare and observe abnormalities and variations in the blood sugar level. Generally, this test is used to diagnose Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes.
Prior preparations such as fasting for 8 hours are required for this test. Blood is drawn from veins to conduct the test.
