Brucella Antibody (B.Abortus & B.Melitensis)

Brucellosis is an infectious illness caused by contact with infected animals or milk products containing the Brucella bacterium. When you have brucellosis, your body produces antibodies to combat the brucella germs. This test searches for antibodies in your blood.

A blood sample is required for the test, collected from a vein in your arm using a needle. These contain the procedure used by each lab to perform the test. Even if your test results deviate from the norm, you might not have a problem.
