The Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) test measures the amount of TSH present in the blood. This test helps diagnose the following conditions:
- Hyperthyroidism :
Overproduction of thyroid hormones leads to diseases like, excess iodine, Thyroiditis, Benign lumps on the thyroid and Grave’s disease. - Hypothyroidism :
The underproduction of thyroid The underproduction of thyroid hormones leads to diseases like goiter, postpartum thyroiditis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, etc.
No prior preparations are required for the test. A blood sample is drawn from the veins and tested for TSH.
